Captain Funk is Tatsuya Oe’s longest-running project apart from his work under his own name. Rooted in his early influences—Funk, Disco, and Synthpop—the project has delivered a wide range of successful releases and remixes. Model Electronic has been the home of Captain Funk’s catalog, releasing albums such as Heavy Metal and Heavy Mellow and, later, works like Oceans, Metropolis, Night Music, and Sail & Cruise. A series of Deluxe Editions with fresh new mixes further highlights the project’s ongoing evolution.
