最近のUK/USインディ・レーベルの音をチェックしていると、「インディ」とは思えないほど、新人でも随分豪華なミュージックビデオ(MV)を作っている。複数のAIに「販促・宣伝費はどうやって捻出するの?」と聞いたところ、「実質的にはアーティストがレーベルにローン(前借り)する形です。アーティストは“リスクは最初に負い、報酬は最後に得る存在”なのです」と返ってきた。そうした世界から離れて、音楽業を30年、レーベルを20年続けてこられたことは奇跡かもしれない。

人間は物語を自分本位に紡いでしまう性質がある。それが時に独善となり、自分を苦しめる。ヴィクトール・フランクルの説く「生きる意味」が、いつしか自分を縛る「執着(べき論)」に変貌する瞬間だ。ここでアルバート・エリスは「その解釈は認知的にゆがんでいないか? 自分を助ける考えか?」と自問し、主観の暴走を食い止めることを提唱する。フランクルとエリスは対照的に見えて、実は「解釈という刃」を使いこなすための、表裏一体の考え方だと思う。

今月の Financial Timesで紹介されていた、各国の AI に対する印象を比較したグラフが印象に残っている。イプソスという調査会社のデータを図表化したものだったと思うが、日本は AI への不安も期待も、そして恩恵への実感も先進国で最下位だった。AI にユートピアもディストピアも感じない、というのは「バランス感覚がある」とするのか、「無批判・無抵抗(=お人好し)すぎる」のかは見方次第。ただ、Gemini は「ジェミナイ」と呼んでほしかったかな。
