NHK BS "Gokujo Bi No Kyoen"

Tatsuya composed music and sound design for the introduction movie about Soga Shohaku (Japanese painter of the mid-Edo period) for NHK BS’s program “Gokujo Bi No Kyoen.”

This movie features his most impressive masterpiece called “Dragon and Cloud,” which is one of the collections by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and now exhibited in Tokyo National Museum (March 20 -June 10) .

Tatsuya worked together with creative director Noriyuki Tanaka for the movie, and took a unique approach by using sounds of Japanese traditional instruments such as Taiko, Shakuhachi, and theatrical voices as often heard in Kabuki. Check out the program aired on May 23th (Wed).

This is the “first version” of “Dragon and Cloud.” In the final version which was actually used on the program, the percussion elements of the former part were removed.
