Album Description

The MER (Model Electronic Records) series was initially produced for the film and broadcasting industry and has been highly acclaimed by music supervisors both in Japan and overseas. To make these releases more accessible to music fans, general distribution on platforms like Apple Music and Spotify began with the release of “Anti-Crime Breaks (MER-3006)” in 2021.

“Cyber City Connection: Urban Synthwave and Electro Funk” is, as the title suggests, a compilation themed around cyberpunk and sci-fi culture that dominated the 1980s and has recently been reevaluated and developed in movies and video games. Inspired by the futuristic worldviews that have spawned diverse forms of expression from novels and Hollywood films to Japanese manga and animation, the album features new arrangements of existing tracks from various monikers as well as new tracks under the MER name.
