In Letting Go, Tatsuya continues his exploration of mindfulness and being present in the moment through music. Suchness, a term originating from Buddhism, refers to the state of awareness and acceptance of the present moment. This mindfulness practice is characterized by focused attention and an open, non-judgmental awareness of one’s surroundings. Drawing on his heritage as a Japanese artist, Tatsuya delves deeper into expressing this essence through sound, inspired by his unique connection to nature and the world around him.

In this album, Tatsuya merges traditional Suchness compositional techniques—layering and subtracting sparse, aleatoric sounds—with contemporary rhythmic elements. The deliberate, meditative pace, punctuated by moments of silence and voids, fosters an acute awareness of the present. It’s like observing the smallest details under a microscope or sensing subtle changes in your environment—heightened awareness in slow motion.

This approach encourages patience, non-judgment, and mindfulness, prompting the listener to be fully present with the sound.
