This experimental electroacoustic/music concrete piece includes a wide range of sounds and sonic fragments such as metallic FM synth sounds, swirling noises, raindrops, metallic percussion, shocking hits buzzing & flanging effects, swooshes, bubble foley sounds, and modulated roars.

Those edgy sounds not only come and go but also “morph,” which shifts from one to another. It is pretty quirky and unpredictable.

AI研究者・認知科学者として知られるゲイリー・マーカスは、AIの進化の行方について数年前から強い警鐘を鳴らしてきた。炎上好きな彼ゆえ、その発言はある程度割り引いて受け止めるのが賢明だが、日本のIT界には「あえて現状を疑い、問題を突きつける」論客が少ない。いずれにしても、AIビジネスが「誰のテストステロン(男性ホルモン)が一番か」とばかりに、まるでカジノの度胸試しのようになっている現状こそ、まさにバブル(=行き過ぎ)だとも言える。

Mac OSが今で言うクラシック環境だった頃、とても個性的で、しかも重宝し、しかも殆ど誰も知らない(笑)音声合成ソフトがあった。数年に一度はそのソフトを再び使いたくなるのだが、Basilisk IIというエミュレーターとMac OS 7.5.3のディスク(!)などを用意して下準備をしなければならないため、毎回思い立っては即座に挫折する。OE『Physical Fiction』や『New Classics Vol.2』に収録されている曲でよく用いた。

先日、池上彰さんが「嫌いな言葉は『真実』」と話しているのを見て、すぐに思い出したのは、トランプが設立したSNS「トゥルース・ソーシャル」だった。「真実と虚偽は顔が似ている。我々は欺瞞を拒む根性がないばかりか、むしろ自ら進んで罠に飛び込んでいく。虚しいことに、巻き込まれるのが好きなのだ。」モンテーニュがこう説いたのは、16世紀半ば。
