マディソン・マクファーリンはボーカリスト/シンガーであることは間違いないが、その立ち位置が特異だと思う。どちらかというとプロデューサー、バンマス志向が強いのかも知れない。この『Ain’t It Nice』という曲は春先にラジオか何かで聴いてアレンジが気に入っていたのだけど、バンドスタイルのライブヴァージョンを聴いたのはこのTiny Deskが初めて。ベース、ドラム含めたプレイヤーのバックアップが良い。

数学は割と好きだが、泥臭い学問だと思う。ここ最近微積や線形代数の本と格闘していて、ノートに数式を書き散らかしては手を止め、また書き散らかすの繰り返しばかり。楽しいけれど、全然エレガントな作業だとは言えない。よく聞く「数学は美しい」という意見は、僕にはちょっとした優越感や気取りというか、やせ我慢にすら映る。そう思ってAIに聞いたら「数学の美しさは後から付けられた「プレゼン用の衣装」にすぎません」という答えが。僕より手厳しい(笑)。
